The month of August holds quite a lot of significance for Leslie Christine Ferdinand, founder and editor-in-chief of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She was born in August, engaged and married in August, gave birth to her oldest and youngest daughters in August and divorced in August. And guess what? Her first book, a time-travel called A Time For Us, debuted in August 1998.
Leslie considers herself blessed. Not only does she have a wonderful mother and three beautiful daughters, but she has been written about in newspapers and magazine. She has done speeches in New York, Houston, New Orleans, and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has been on several television stations in Lake Charles, New Orleans, and as far away as the Philippines. In December 2006, Leslie appeared in a segment of the Rachael Ray Show.
History is her passion and her adopted city of Rosenberg is full of history. The idea for a magazine for Rosenberg and Richmond came to her because she wants as many people as possible to see what she sees. The magazine has an audience not only in the Rosenberg-Richmond area but in New Orleans, Ft. Worth, Montgomery, AL, and Virginia Beach, VA.
When she realized that there were no magazines specifically for this historic and beautiful area, she decided to take action. One day celebrating the twin cities of the Gulf South was an idea, the very next day that idea was set in motion. 5 months later, a magazine, Inside Rose Rich Magazine, was born.
