Melissa co-owns the law firm of Garcia-Martin & Martin, with her husband Lionel Martin. Although Ms. Martin grew up most of her life in Houston, six years ago she and her husband moved to Fort Bend County. She found Richmond to provide the comfort and security of small town life, while still having the access to the big city.
She and her husband were able to work at law firms in Houston, but they were happy to enjoy the relaxation their home outside of the city provided. After many years of working in Houston, she and her husband made the bold decision to open their practice together in Fort Bend County. They had come to the realization that raising two children while maintaining busy careers would be more workable and rewarding if they had their own practice. That was more than one year ago and she has never regretted her decision. Outside of her career and raising her children, she enjoys training for the marathon each year with Fort Bend Fit. This year she has decided to move beyond her running addiction by competing in her first sprint triathlon. She believes the secret to life is as Mark Twain says - "Don't dream your life away, live your dreams."
